The Daggers went out of the LDV Trophy on Tuesday 2-1 after extra time to Wycombe Wanderers at the Causeway Stadium.

The Daggers fielded a full strength side with the only change from the starting eleven at Morecambe being Sam Saunders returning for Craig Mackail-Smith who took a knock against the Shrimpers.

Tresor Kandol had already hit a post when Paul Benson (right) put the Daggers ahead in the first half after 26 minutes from a Chris Moore cross. It is Benson's first competitive goal for the club and looks like it could be the first of many.

Clint Easton equalised for Wycombe just after the hour and the home side, unbeaten this season except for losing to Aston Villa in the Coca Cola cup looked the most likely to win the game from then on.

Tony Roberts has made a string of fabulous saves to keep the Daggers in the game. Bai Mas Lattejallow and Thomas Ward both impressed when given a run as substitutes and could have won it late on when Wards pass found Lattejallow who couldn't quite finish.

Easton scored his second goal after seven minutes of the second half of extra time to win the game for Wycombe.

It is to be hoped that the Daggers two hours of exertion is what is really a meaningless competition does not effect their performance on Saturday when they head West to take on Forest Green Rovers in the FA Cup.
