Either (1) an overweight opposing forward that somehow always seems to manage to score against you, or (2) amusing banter from a player you'd love to hate but somehow have to grudgingly admire (opposite of an "Elding").

The Daggers first trip to York City ended in stalemate, but not for lack of effort by either side.

It ended 0-0 at York City's KitKat Crescent but no-one who saw the game will know how as both sides had lots of chances in an end to end game on a sticky pitch.

With Shane Blackett now out for the season with damaged knee ligaments Ashley Vickers (right) returned to the centre of defence as did Lee Flynn at left back. Scott Griffiths was pushed up to left midfield and Paul Bruce dropped to the bench in a move many fans will have wanted to see. Tony Boot's reward for the equaliser at Exeter was a start alongside Chris Moore.

York took the game to the Daggers in the early stages, Darren Dunning seeing his shot well saved by Roberts then Andy Bishop headed wide from a decent position.

It took 20 minutes for the Daggers to have an attempt at goal when Jake Leberl flicked on for Moore (left) but the header was too close to Stockdale. The half would down with Jake Leberl shooting wide and Andy Bishop again going close for York, Roberts saving well.

The Daggers were forced to take off promising young right back Danny Foster (right) at half time and then also replaced Lee Flynn and Tony Boot just after the hour as the game took its toll.

Much of the second half was fairly tight but as the clock ran down the heavy pitch meant that the game opened up. In the final quarter of an hour first substitute Craig Mackail-Smith got clear and crossed low for Chris Moore who could only shoot just wide, then Bishop again went close for York when he almost made Ashley Vickers pay for a short backpass, Roberts blocking the effort.

With time running out Moore's shot from the edge of the area  was unlucky to see a shot from the edge of the area rebound off a post before York had the best chance of the day when Ben Jackson dragged his shot wide when found by Groves from Kevin Donovan's free kick.

The game ended with another effort each, Jackson denied by Roberts' save and then Leberl having a shot saved by Stockdale after a Scott Griffiths (left) long throw.

In the end though both sides had to settle for a point and the result means the Daggers are now unbeaten in five games, but still down in 11th and with any lingering hopes of a play off miracle now gone.
