Gomis is a Dagger
Dagenham & Redbridge FC have confirmed today that they have signed midfielder Morgaro Gomis from Ryman League Windsor & Eton on a contract until May 2007. The statement on the Official website stays that this is a free transfer, while Windsor & Eton say that there is a sell on clause in the contract.

Gomis moved to England from France and initially played for Chelsea as a youth before signing for Windsor & Eton. Having progressed through the Stags reserves, he has been a first team regular since the middle of last season playing 34 games and scoring once, a 40 yard screamer earlier this season. He has been likened to fellow countryman Patrick Vieira and has been watched by several interested Football League sides.

Gomis is suspended for one game following a sending off in a game against Staines Town in the first week of January so will not make his debut tomorrow at Hereford United.

Stags fans have said that Gomis is a ball winning midfielder and he sounds just like what the team needs provided he can make the step up two divisions. He will most certainly put some pressure on Jake Leberl (right) to improve on some recent lacklustre performances.
