The Daggers have rather predictably parted company with former Nigerian
International goalkeeper, Abi Baruwa today following the decision to draft in
Alex O'Reilly to cover Tony Roberts' suspension after his red card and
subsequent three match ban against Accrington Stanley.
Abi took the gloves in that game but was beaten three times in the time he
was between the sticks, the first the penalty which resulted from the Roberts
red card incident. He had little chance with the other two either that day and
was entitled to believe he would get his chance at Aldershot having warmed the
Daggers bench for almost a year. Instead O'Reilly was drafted in and
DiggerDagger understands the Abi was not told of that decision until after 2pm
on the day of the game.
The statement at the Daggers official
site states that the decision to leave is so that Abi can "seek regular
first team football."
DiggerDagger.com would like to wish him all the best in the future.
