In the Glovers' championship season, Kirk was one goal short of the Conference Golden Boot and, indeed, scored three of Yeovil's four goals against the Daggers at Victoria Road in April 2003.

With his strike rate having been less good during the Glovers' inaugural Football League season, he was allowed to go out on loan to the Daggers.
