Danny started his career as a trainee at
West Ham United, and had a couple of load spells with The Daggers before
signing for Irish side Coleraine in 1996 for a fee of £150,000. He
returned after a season in Ireland and signed for Dagenham & Redbridge
where he has remained since.
He has hattricks against
Southend United in the Essex Senior Cup, where he went on to score a
fourth, and against Wealdstone and Telford United in the 1998/99 FA Trophy
campaign.
Danny is a favorite of Garry Hill who
appreciates the work rate put in by Danny, as do the fans. Last season,
despite a good scoring start in the Conference campaign, the arrival of
Ken Charlery saw Danny playing in central midfield for the club.
Danny also became The Daggers' all time
leading goalscorer in 2001/02, surpassing the previous record of 84 held
by Paul Cobb who joined Canvey Island in the 2001 close season. Danny's
goal against Stalybridge Celtic at Bower Fold on the 8th September 2001
was his 85th for the club.
In 2002/03 Gary Hill converted Danny to a role in central midfield
where, although not looking 100% comfortable, he does a good job for the
team while still popping up with the odd goal, like the first against
Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup 3rd round replay.
