Tim is a highly-rated defender who is also
capable of playing in midfield when pressed. Tim started his playing days
with Walthamstow Pennant but had to wait until September 1995 for his
debut due to an injury. Dagenham & Redbridge signed him in March 1997
from Leyton Pennant for a four-figure fee after he had been watched by
many Football League scouts. Tim was named the club's player of the year
in 1997/98, and he has also represented the Ryman League.
Tim caused a stir during the 2000/01 FA Cup run as
his job, a Smithfield meat porter, made him a great favorite of the
popular press, who extracted from him several good cliche'd quotes about
him "butchering" the Charlton players. In fact Tim had two
outstanding games against the Premiership side.
In 2001/02 Tim appeared for just a few
minutes, suffering a cracked bone in his ankle pre-season, and re breaking
the ankle on his return against Orient in the LDV Vans Trophy. However, he
returned to action at the end of the season, boosting the Club's title
challenge. Tim also spent a period on loan at Essex neighbours, Billericay
Town.
In 2002/03 it seemed he may have been out
of favour and he struggled early in the season to get into the team. After
a loan to Gravesend & Northfleet to regain match fitness he did return
though to play most of the late season games including all the play off
matches.
Tim is congratulated for his goal against Chester in the final game of
2001/02
