Steve signed for the club from the Dagenham & Redbridge School of Excellence. He played in several Essex Senior Cup games in season 2000/01 and also in the Ryman Charity Shield match against Farnborough Town.

Steve appeared on the bench for several games at the start of season 2001/02 before going out on loan to East Thurrock United for a month.

In 2002/03 Steve appeared in very few games and was unfortunately carried off with a knee ligament injury at Woking. He has had surgery in the close season and looks like missing the whole 2003/04 season as a result.
