Ross signed for the Daggers from Essex
neighbours, Colchester United in August 2002.
Starting his career with his hometown club,
Brighton & Hove Albion, Ross spent six years with the Seagulls before
joining Colchester United on loan. His performances impressed
manager Steve Whitton enough to sign him fulltime and he made a major
impact in the team's defence. Unfortunately, the next two seasons
were plagued with injuries and this eventually led to him losing his place
at Layer Road. Ross scored the seventh goal in the Daggers'
pre-season hammering of Heybridge Swifts. In September, Ross was released
and signed for Canvey Island.
