Starting his career as a centre-forward for
Woking, Mark moved to Stevenage Borough in 1992. On his debut for
Boro, he scored an impressive four goals.
Whilst at Broadhall Way, he switched to the
centre-back position and became one of the Boro supporter's favourites.
He has won a number of England caps at semi-pro level and was named player
of the season for Stevenage in the 2000/01 season.
Unable to agree terms with Boro for the
following season, Mark joined the Daggers on a free transfer in time for
the start of the 2001/02 campaign where, given the injuries to Matthews
and Cole, he proved invaluable. A no-nonsense defender who just does
his stuff week in and week out, Mark has become a firm favourite at
Victoria Road although he became something of a backup following the
return to fitness of Lee Matthews and Tim Cole.
Mark has signed a new one year deal with
the Daggers for 2003/-04.
