Player Profile - Mark Rooney
Date Signed : 27 March 2001
Cost : "Four figure fee"
Date of Birth : 19 May 1978
Height : 5'10"
Place of Birth : London
Position : Defender
Nationality : English
Previous Clubs : Watford, Aylesbury United
Career History
Mark started his career as a trainee at Watford where he played regularly in the reserve side without breaking into the first team. He moved on to Aylesbury United in the summer of 1998 and then on again to St Albans City after a season with the Ducks. Garry Hill signed Mark for The Daggers in Mark 2001 and he made his debut in the 0-0 draw with Telford on April 7th.

Last season Mark appeared regularly in central defence and at right back and looks to be an accomplished defender with good passing skills. He tends to be the one to give way when Garry Hill switches to three at the back though and his chances in the first team have been limited this season.
