Lee joined the Daggers for a £3,000 fee in
January 1998 from near neighbours Purfleet. He started his career as a
Southend United trainee before moving to Purfleet in July 1991 where he
made over 250 appearances becoming a firm favorite.
Lee is a very classy centre back and is
much appreciated by the Victoria Road crowd since his arrival. In 2000/01,
he won the clubs player of the year, won representative honours for the FA
XI against the Ryman League, and won the Conference Player Of The Year
award from Match Magazine.
Unfortunately he
damaged knee ligaments in the summer missed the whole of the 2001/02
season as a result.
Lee returned to the team early in the 2002/03 season and soon regained his poise and command of the game. As the club captain Lee is back to his best once more, leading the Daggers by example from central defence.
