Junior started his career as a trainee at
Tottenham Hotspur around the same time as Sol Campbell. Their careers
headed in very different directions though, and in May 1994 Junior moved
on Brighton and Hove Albion where he made nearly 100 appearance and scored
22 goals. He had a brief loan period at Chesterfield before moving to
Rotherham United for a £50,000 fee in summer 1996. He never really made
it in his two years at Rotherham making only 20 appearances and scoring 2
goals although he also had loan periods at Cambridge City and Toulon in
France. From there Junior had a brief spell on monthly contracts at
Millwall before being signed by Leyton Orient where again he made only 4
starts, 10 appearances in all and failed to score.
His move to Dagenham & Redbridge on a
free transfer from Orient has proved a good one for Junior. He joined at
the start of the Ryman championship season and scored some vital goals in
that campaign. In the first year back in the Conference he was the joint
top scorer for the season, albeit with just 10 goals, one of which was the
vital headed goal at The Valley against Charlton Athletic that almost won
the game.
Junior has made well over a hundred
appearances for The Daggers now, and has scored over 35 goals for the
club. In a 2001/02 Essex Senior Cup game against Harwich & Parkeston,
Junior scored 4 goals in a 7-2 win. The fans love him for his searing pace
and effort for the cause, where he will chase all day. His lack of
finishing power occasionally spoils what is an otherwise brilliant
forward. Junior works with the PASE squad at Dagenham & Redbridge and
also has been a squad member of the Harchester United team on Sky TV's
Dream Team.
