Recent History

Originally Wellington Town they changed their name to Telford United in 1969. Along with Northwich Victoria they have been ever present in the Conference although in 1998 they were saved from relegation only by Slough Town being kicked out of the league having finished 20th.

They have spent a lot of money in recent seasons renovating their ground and look to be on the verge of a push for football league status in the next few seasons.

Telford are one of the famous names in the FA Cup their best run coming in 1984/85 where they lost to Everton in the 5th round. They have won the FA Trophy three times and been runners up twice more.

Their ten season league record stands as follows
