Recent History

Southern League Premier Division champions in 2000/01, Margate were the surprise package of 2001/02 topping the table briefly in September and being in the top three for much of the first half of the season eventually finishing 8th. They had a much more non-descript season in 2002/03 finishing 10th.

They have been looking to redevelop their home Hartsdown Park for the last two seasons and have subsequently played their home matches at Dover's Crabble Athletic Ground in the meantime. This arrangement needs to end by the end of 2003/04 or the Conference have threatened to expel them.
