Recent History

Playing as Horwich RMI until the end of the 1994/95 season, the Railwaymen were promoted to the Conference at the end of the 1999/00 season and finished an excellent 5th in their first season. This feat is all the more remarkable as they suffer from a small fanbase and operate on a very limited budget coming from a Rugby League town and surrounded by several Premiership and Football League sides.

In 2001/02 they struggled a little more finishing in the bottom half but managed a double over the Daggers and then in 2002/03 they looked odds on to go down for most of the season before escaping with a win on the last day of the season. In 2003/04 they finally looked to have succumbed to the drop when they finished 21st only to be saved by the demise of other clubs (Telford United and Margate). Despite only winning seven games all this season, they still managed a double over the Daggers again!

Their ten season league record stands as follows
